  • Car bomb kills more than 10 civilians in Aleppo

A car bomb near a hospital in a town held by Turkey-backed Syrian rebels in northern Syria killed 11 civilians on Sunday, a monitor said.

The blast struck in Al-Rai near the Turkish border, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing near the town's entrance, the second such deadly blast in the wider rebel-held area since June.

A member of the rebel security forces, Osama Abu al-Kheir, told AFP that a refrigerator truck blew up outside a healthcare center.

Civil Defence teams rushed to the site to rescue the injured into the nearest medical points, Baladi News correspondent reported.

The cities and towns of Aleppo's eastern and northern countryside have witnessed many similar explosions which targeted public markets and residential areas, which explosions were mostly conducted by SDF and Daesh.
