The city of Tafas in Daraa has experienced security tension as regime forces, backed by tanks, attempted to storm the city Sunday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported.
Former opposition fighters have managed to repel the regime forces' attempts, SOHR said.
At least three members of opposition factions have been killed by a tank shell targeting their positions while repelling regime forces, and others injured as a result of a similar shelling, according to the observatory.
This development comes after storming of the city of Al-Sanamin in the morning of Sunday.
On the other hand, several demonstrations have took place in Bosra al-Sham, Kahil and Daraa al-Balad demanding the withdrawal of regime forces from the city of Al-Sanamin.
SOHR sources have reported earlier that popular resentment has been significantly growing in different areas in Daraa province, against the backdrop of the recent developments in Al-Sanamin city.
Clashes are still underway inside the city between former fighters of the factions on one hand, and regime forces and loyalists armed with heavy weapons as well as tanks.
Opposition former fighters attacked the checkpoint of Jilin Housing, west of Daraa, and controlled it, captured two regime soldiers in Al-Karak Al-Sharqi town, blocked the routes to Daraa city from the side of its western countryside, and clashed with regime forces in a security detachment in Tafas town, according to SOHR.
Those separate attacks come as a response to the regime security crackdown in Al-Sanamayn city.
Three civilians, including a child, have been killed due to the regime ground offensive and shelling on Al-Sanamin city, SOHR added.
